THE FINAL ROPE

by: CHRISTINE JOY B. RAMO

We have a weapon sharper than swords

‎It is what we call words

‎You may not hear us speak with full confidence

‎But it doesn't mean we will be devoured by silence.

‎We may be just students

‎But we know clearly how to be prudent

‎We see how injustice are being ruled

‎By the government, but we won't be fooled

‎Our national hero once told

‎We children are the hope

‎Hope of the nation to find the gold

‎And be the ones to tie the final rope.

‎We are children, we are the youth

‎We may not have the same power they hold

‎But we sure have the voice to speak the truth

‎And mend the ways of the old.

‎We are children, we are teens

‎We make everything possible by all means

‎We make decisions, we unite the nation

‎We choose the best possible foundation.

‎We are children, we are the voice

‎Voice of the people, voice of the nation

‎We have the power, we make the choice

‎To fully stop stagnation.

‎Hear our cries, wipe our tears

‎Prevent us from losing our hairs

‎To the last generation, we pray

‎Be wise, choose the proper way.

‎As your choices affect us too

‎Be mindful, please don't screw

‎The decisions made by you

‎Will reflect you and who?
