ABSTRACT

The study, "Challenges Encountered by Student Organization Officers in Managing Campus Organizations at Balayan Senior High School," was undertaken with the general purpose of determining what are the most common problems encountered by student officers and how these affect their leadership performance and organization management. Data were gathered through a quantitative-descriptive research design in survey questionnaire mode given to the student organization officers. The results indicated that officers face moderate problems, especially communication, budget, and time, which are likely to result in emotional and mental pressure. Leadership roles and academic work were also found to be a significant problem since most officers are not able to achieve good academic performance if there is high organizational pressure. In spite of all these issues, student organization leadership is demonstrated to function relatively well, with officers exhibiting teamwork, cooperation, and collaborative decision making. Nevertheless, the findings identify a certain necessity for greater institutional investment, including more money, mentor programs, and conflict management habits. On the basis of these results, it's suggested that school administration and counselors provide time management and leadership seminars, adequate logistical and financial assistance, and team-building activities to promote more cooperation and less in-fighting. It's also suggested that future researchers replicate the study in more schools and explore the relationship between leadership experience and academic development. In conclusion, study recommends ongoing support and capacity development programs to complement organizational performance and leadership by Balayan Senior High School student officers.
