ABSTRACT
This action research entitled “Strengthening Science Learning Through Teacher Strategies and Parental Collaboration: An Action Research at Sta. Maria Elementary School” aimed to enhance the science learning performance of learners through the effective integration of innovative teaching strategies and strengthened parental involvement. Recognizing the crucial role of Science as a core learning area in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the study sought to address gaps in learners’ comprehension and participation in Science activities.
The study involved learners, teachers, and parents from Sta. Maria Elementary School during School Year 2024–2025. Various teacher-led instructional strategies such as interactive discussions, hands-on experiments, and visual-based activities were employed to make Science learning more engaging and meaningful. Simultaneously, parents were actively involved through home-based reinforcement activities, learning kits, and regular communication with teachers to sustain learners’ interest and support outside the classroom.
Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, classroom observations, parent feedback, and learners’ performance outputs. Results revealed a significant improvement in learners’ science performance, increased participation during class discussions, and stronger home-school collaboration. Parents expressed greater confidence in supporting their children’s learning, while teachers observed improved comprehension and retention among learners.
The findings highlight the power of combined teacher strategies and parental collaboration in strengthening Science education. The study recommends the continuous integration of interactive teaching methods and sustained parent engagement programs to further support learners’ academic growth and holistic development.
