IV. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
The “Atsarang Talong with Ampalaya” is a school project that is essential and very economic saving activity both for the students and parents of our school and community. This Atsarang Talong with Ampalaya is not just an ordinary atsara that can buy from the stores, it is nutritious and easy to make. The ingredients use are: bitter gourd, green eegplant, vinegar, salt, sugar, ginger, carrots, garlic and raisen. The materials used were plastic bottle for packaging. The project is sponsored by the PTA with the assistance of the Veronica Teachers.
V. RATIONALE
This project was done to help students as well as the parents to be initiative and resourceful to overcome the economic crisis that affects their lives. Through the cooperation of PTA and teachers we made this project possible, they provided the ingredients needed to use in making atsara by the students and parents. The profit gained from selling atsara were used to have their own school project and activities that usually they cannot afford to provide.
VI. OBJECTIVES
1. Develop pupils skills in homemaking and family budget through livelihood projects like selling “Atsarang Talong with Ampalaya”
2. Carry out and strengthen work experience in livelihood projects from school to the home and community.
3. Utilize pupils initiative and resourcefulness in improving community upliftment and progress.
4. Encourage pupils to love and enjoy their leisure time by having a worthwhile income-generating project.
5. Help and cooperate each member of the family to earn extra money to their daily life necessities.
