This classroom action research examined frequent student tardiness of Grade 7 students in Panabo National High School Gredu, Panabo City, Davao del Norte. The principal aim of the study was to reduce tardiness of the students by creating a group which comprises the consistent early comer as a leader and two other members who have incurred a number of tardiness in the first month of `the academic year as recorded by the researcher. Additionally, it focused on assisting and transforming the behavior and approach of the students towards tardiness in the school. Quasi-experimental design was applied and the Grade 7 Everlasting students were selected for the intervention of determined strategy. Three weeks of observation and another three weeks of intervention was conducted for the identified section. The collected data included annotations in two phases; observation and intervention stage by reviewing the attendance record. The results showed a significant change in the students’ tardiness in coming to school in the post intervention. These findings highlight the importance of a relationship between institutional practices of classroom management and behavior modification in students.
