PROPOSED MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR TEACHERS IN FOSTERING UNITY AND SHARED COMMITMENT AMONG SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS

ABSTRACT

The study was conducted to assess the manifestation of teachers on different school activities as well as their commitment on their responsibility. The respondents of the study were the teachers in Lemery Senior High School during school year 2022-2023.

The researcher employed the descriptive research design. In this design, the study focuses at the present condition wherein the main purpose is to find a new truth. The truth may have different forms such as increased quantity of knowledge, a new generalization or a new law, an increased insight into factors which are operating the discovery of a new causal relationship, a more accurate formulation of the problem to be solved, and many others.

From the data obtained, it is recommended that teachers be given opportunities to attend seminars, workshops related to their personal and professional improvement. The proposed management program for fostering unity and shared commitment among secondary school teachers focuses on teachers’ manifestation of school activities. Also, the extent of teachers’ manifestation on different school policies, improvement of student performance, participation in extra and co curricular activities and community involvement were on great extent.

With the help of this program, teachers may develop their skills needed to enhance their professional competence and classroom performance and to make them values oriented, ethically and morally upright which can lead them to perform their duties and responsibilities in the learning process. The output will transform the weak areas into strengths as revealed in the findings of the present study. The table below shows the proposed management program for fostering unity and shared commitment among secondary school teachers.
