LOVE FOR WORK

CRISTINA B. ROSALES

· Volume I Issue I

A certain philosopher of work once said “Love your work. Because if you love your work, it is no longer work- but it becomes a pleasure”.
These lines are my guiding philosophy in the conduct of my duty as a government employee particularly as a teacher. Such philosophy captivated my heart in the performance of my daily activity log which I carry with dedication and commitment due to my genuine love for work.
As a public servant, my love for work is the only way that leads to my duty. For me, duty is joy. This gives meaning to my life and value to my vocation as an aide born to serve others for the prestige of humanity and for the glory of our Almighty.
When I have a deep sense of commitment and dedication, I come to a conclusion that work is not boring but it is rather a vocation. Dedication means self-sacrificing devotion, a service based on sincerity, marked with integrity, faithfulness, and enthusiasm. In work, there’s nothing impossible to accomplish of the head, head and hands speak for it. This also means doing our work with high degree of efficiency, excellence, and quality. When we do our work with high degree or efficiency, we do give our best. Love makes our work go fine. It makes us move cheerfully without complaining but rather complying because we feel the need to serve from the bottom of our hearts.
It is extremely hoped that when we do our job as government employees, we do it for the love-of God and our fellowmen, our society and our environment. Love for work is the greatest measure of a true servant. So, let there be love for our work.
