INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY IN TEACHING PHYSICAL EDUCATION, LEARNERS’ ATTITUDE AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

Although much of research reported significant relationship between technology integration in the classroom, student attitude and academic performance, little has been shown in the field of Physical Education. In order to determine the relationships of these variables mentioned, this study was conducted in Physical Education subject of the Senior High Students. This study used descriptive-correlational research design which utilized two researcher made questionnaires to gather data regarding students’ perception about technology integration in their Physical Education classroom as well as their attitudes in the subject. The data was treated by obtaining means and correlation coefficients using bivariate analysis. The respondents were 294 learners from Grade 11 and Grade 12 who were chosen via stratified random sampling. The null hypothesis of significant differences and correlation was tested with Pearson Product Correlation at 0.05 level of confidence. Results indicated that teachers rarely integrate technology inside the Physical Education classroom, the students have good attitude toward Physical Education, more than eighty percent of Senior High School Students are Outstanding, there is no statistical significant relationship between technology integration and academic performance. There is a statistical significant relationship between student attitude and academic performance.
