ABSTRACT
This study aimed to describe the flights of teachers in research writing for the academic year 2023-2024. Furthermore, it aimed to determine the status of research writing; the most difficult components of research; the issues and challenges faced by teachers in research writing and the proposed action plan to improve the current condition concerning the practice of action research in Bilaran Elementary School. The descriptive design type of research was employed in the study. A survey questionnaire was administered to 28 teachers. In addition to this, interviews and document analysis were considered to collect the necessary information. Results obtained were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and narratives. It revealed that the practices of action research in Bilaran Elementary School is very low; analyzing and interpreting of data as well as organizing and writing the findings, conclusions and recommendations are the components of research process perceived as the most difficult action research processes; teachers are not confident to undertake any action research and lastly action plan was created comprising of various interactive and innovative activities. As an offshoot of the results of the study, a proposed action plan was designed to further improve the culture of research in the said school.
