ABSTRACT

This study examined the topic of Exploring Experiences Among Discrimination of Senior High School Students in Their Chosen Strand, from students at Nasugbu East Senior High School. Descriptive studies were used in the study to explain its overall conclusions. The sample population for this study consists of five (5) G11 students from different strands. Most participants experience discrimination for their strand of Senior High School. The conclusion implies that the most significant factor resulting to a person's experiences of discrimination is Degradation.

Participants revealed that the primary factors that results to the experiences of discrimination of students are degradation of the students' intellectual skill resulting to underestimating, and academic pressure, for the students may judge the origin and skill in relation to their chosen academic strand about cultural and intellectual awareness, preparation for discriminatory critique and exclusivity, and broad strand-based judgement. The challenges and concerns that associate with Strand-based discrimination are having difficulty focusing on academic studies, challenges and struggles with participation and self-confidence that effects their overall satisfaction with and enjoyment from their education.

Moreover, the researchers recommended that schools should offer extra help and resources for students to develop inclusivity skills in their academic environment like seminars and equality programs. Schools also should help students manage judgement and inclusivity skills and time, better with workshops and guidance from teachers. Also, schools should implement guidance to help students align their discriminatory attitudes with their environment, including orientations and support with Strand-based judgement.
