ENHANCING STUDENTS COPING SKILLS AND RESILIENCE IN THE NEW NORMAL

Everybody is affected by the situation we face today. No selective state, rich or poor is affected by the pandemic. One of the biggest challenges in the Department of Education is how the sector in education will enhance students coping skills and resilience in the new normal?

Public school teachers do everything to enhance student’s skills and resilience in the new normal. Starting of April 2020 different webinar topics have been attended by every public school teachers, especially in the use of technology and various methods on how to teach students their lessons. Out of the box are what teachers do.

There was an orientation to parents and students on what is a good way to enhance students coping skills and resilience. After the orientation there was a dry run with teachers and students on what is best to use in their learning. In this way you can see the possible problems or what is better to use technology or methods for teachers and students.

Another ways is DepEd launched DepEd TV Channel where students can watched over television about their subjects. Radio for remotes areas. Printed modules will be distributed to the designated area where parents will get for their children.

Providing good quality education for students will not be an obstacle. With the cooperation of the Department of Education, teachers, parents and the local government to enhance students coping skills and resilience in our current situation.
