ABSTRACT

This study examines the effectiveness of vocabulary applications in enhancing the performance of BSED English students. It focuses on how the use of digital vocabulary tools contributes to vocabulary retention, comprehension, and the development of English language proficiency. Findings reveal that students who regularly utilized vocabulary applications demonstrated greater improvement in word knowledge, active participation, and confidence in academic tasks. However, challenges such as inconsistent usage, limited internet access, and dependence on traditional learning strategies were also identified as factors affecting performance. A majority of respondents, aged 18 to 22 and largely female, reported that the use of applications increased their motivation and engagement in vocabulary learning.

The study highlights the importance of integrating technology into language learning to support students’ academic growth. Results also indicate that demographic variables such as age and sex do not significantly influence vocabulary performance, suggesting that the effectiveness of applications is consistent across learners.

Based on the findings, the researcher designed Learning Activities that incorporate vocabulary applications to reinforce retention, foster independent learning, and encourage interactive practice. These activities serve as practical tools for educators in creating engaging lessons that enhance language acquisition and overall student performance. The study concludes with recommendations for teachers to integrate mobile-assisted learning strategies in order to maximize the benefits of technology in vocabulary development.
