DEVELOPMENT OF CONTEXTUALIZED LEARNING ACTIVITIES

FOR GRADE VII PHYSICS

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to develop a contextualized learning materials for Grade VII physics. Precisely, it focused on the activities in each topic of the module. The parts and contents of the activities were considered in the development, level of validity of the developed Contextualized LM’s as assessed by the public and private teachers, and Instructors in terms of the content, instructional strategies and general characteristics. The topics focused on the 3rd quarter of the Grade VII book in the Department of Education. After the development of the contextualized LM’s, an adopted questionnaire was also used to determine the validity of the developed modules. Data were analyzed using weighted mean to ascertain the validity of the Contextualized LM’s. Lastly, revision of the LM’s was made as corrected and suggested by the experts.

The developed Contextualized Learning Materials specifically the content was specific, accurate, and student assessment/evaluation was high evident for effective learning. Instructional Strategies have high validity and more evident of variety of both teaching and learning styles, organization management, application of the content and quality of supplemental materials. Lastly, the general characteristics of the developed Contextualized LM have a high valid quality of styles/appropriate level of difficulty, the presentation/format/attractiveness have high evidence and the technical.
