ASSESSMENT ON THE LEVEL OF CORRECT GRAMMAR USAGE AMONG LEMERY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: BASIS FOR A PROPOSED  INTERVENTION PROGRAM

This study was conducted to assess the level of correct usage of grammar among students of Lemery Senior High School which served as basis for proposed intervention program to enhance their grammar skills. The study employed the descriptive research design to further explain and describe the phenomenon in the study. The researcher involved 343 Grade 11 and 12 students from Lemery Senior High School. Stratified Random Sampling was utilized in the study.

The descriptive method of research was used with the questionnaire as the main data gathering tool. The frequency, mean, percentage and correlation were the statistical tool employed to treat the data gathered.

This study revealed that the profile of the respondents’ likes grade level and gender does not have to do with the learners’ level of grammar skill. On the otherhand, students showed that there was a little increased in terms of correct grammar in written expression rather than oral speaking. In connection to this, the proposed inervention program was made to enhance the grammar skills of Lemery Senior High School. The said program focused on different activities that the school can implement to be utilized by the teachers for them to enhance the grammar skills of the students.
