ABSTRACT
The study entitled “Assessing the Readiness of Grade 12 ABM Students and Parents for Pursuing Higher Education” focuses on determining the level of readiness of Grade 12 students under the ABM strand and their parents in terms of financial, academic, emotional, and social aspects. The researchers used a descriptive research design and conducted survey questionnaires among selected students and parents to gather data using online survey form. The results show that the students and parents are academically prepared for higher education in total of 3.21 weighted average. Second, in total of 3.14 weighted average students show readiness for higher education in areas such as time management, motivation, emotional regulation, critical thinking, and digital skills. Third, results indicate that parents extend their support not only financially, but also emotionally this shows a 3.22 weighted average. Lastly, an average of 2.95 the results show that ABM strand students encounter a range of challenges in preparing for college, including cultural and social pressures, financial difficulties, emotional. Findings revealed that learners have gained their preparation from their strand (ABM). The findings mean, the students are confidently ready to pursue higher education, by the help of their parents to provide financially and emotional support. Moreover, they also face different challenges for pursuing higher education. This shows that even though Grade 12 ABM students have already developed strong cognitive skills and discipline, they still need more support to strengthen their communication abilities and higher academic skills in order to be fully prepared for college.
