ABSTRACT
This study, entitled “Assessing Perceived Readiness of ABM Students for Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Higher Education Post-Senior High School in Balayan Senior High School” investigated the preparedness of Grade 12 ABM students for post-SHS pathways. The research focus in three key areas: employment, entrepreneurship, and higher education. Findings revealed the students generally viewed themselves as ready and confident in essential skills such as communication, financial literacy, and business literacy. They also displayed positive attitudes toward employ ability competencies, including teamwork, problem solving, adaptability, and costumer relationship management.
Despite this overall readiness, students expressed feelings of uncertainty regarding transitioning into the workforce, pursuing entrepreneurship, and planning their future careers, highlighting the need for additional support. To address these gaps, the study recommended implementing affordable and comprehensive coaching and advising services, regularly scheduled seminars and workshops, and forming educational partnerships with local industry practitioners to enhance practical exposure and awareness of personality typologies, such as Myers-Briggs.
Furthermore, integrating experiential opportunities such as service-learning, immersion programs, and simulated business experiences would strengthen preparation across multiple domains, boost confidence, and help students apply theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts. The study emphasizes holistic education by promoting resilience, leadership, and adaptability through extracurricular activities and community involvement. Finally, it suggests CHED-compliant bridging programs to facilitate the transition to college while preparing students comprehensively for employment, entrepreneurship, and higher education.
