THROUGH AN ADAPTED E-QUIZ

ABSTRACT

This study primarily aims to motivate Grade 7 students to master the Periodic Table of elements through the aid of an adapted electronic quiz application. A parallel study between the present way of teaching and experimental strategy were compared. A mixed method of research was utilized, to compare and evaluate the effectiveness of adapted electronic quiz towards mastery of the respondents in terms of identifying and naming the Periodic Table of elements.

The pre-test shows that the respondents have no knowledge in names and symbols of elements. The outcome reveals that there is a significant difference between post test results of the control and experimental group. The respondents evaluated the adapted electronic quiz as exciting, enjoyable and educational game. Thus, they easily memorize the symbols and names of elements. An action plan was proposed to improve students’ mastery in the Periodic Table of Elements.
