PHILOSOPHICAL VIEWS OF PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS AND PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS
TOWARDS THEIR TEACHING PERFORMANCE

This study aimed to determine the educational Philosophy of professional teachers and pre-service teachers. Specifically, it described the profile of the two groups of respondents: assess the assess the educational philosophy in terms of essentialism, perrenialism, progressivism, social constructivism and existentialism. Significant difference is also determine between the responses regarding educational Philosophy of the respondents. The researcher employed a descriptive method. Data questionnaire was utilized in this research. The descriptive study involved 50 professional teacher-respondents and pre-service teacher-respondents form University of Batangas who are selected using systematic random sampling method. Results revealed that the two groups of respondents strongly agree that they integrate progressivism in their daily teaching. They agree that they incorporate essentialism, perrenialism and existentialism in their teaching and they moderately agree that they practice social constructivism in their teaching performance . A plan of action is designed to enhance the teaching performance of professional teachers and pre-service teachers integrating the educational Philosophy leading to the improvement of instruction.
