PERCEIVED EFFECTS OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN THE TEACHING PERFORMANCE OF TEACHERS IN

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to assess the perceived effects of Covid 19 pandemic in the teaching performances of teachers in Gregorio Paradero Elementary School, Tuy, Batangas. The researcher utilized descriptive method of research and self-made questionnaire as the main data gathering instrument which was administered to forty-one (41) teachers of Gregorio Paradero Elementary School. This study utilized percentage, weighted mean, standard deviation, T- test and Pearson r as statistical tools. Based on the findings most of the respondents are in their middle adulthood ranged from 51–60-year-old, female, married, with MA/MS Unit and 26-30 years in service. Respondents agreed that there are factors that affects their teaching performances in terms related to teacher, learner, environment, and others. Majority of the teachers believe that attitude of teachers toward work is one of the major factors that affected their performances. Majority of the respondents have positive perceived effects of covid 19 to their teaching performances. Respondents were well prepared for the distribution and retrieval of modules and output of the learners. There is no significant difference in the responses of the respondents when grouped according to their profile. The perceived effects of Covid 19 pandemic to the teaching performance of teachers did not significantly differ when profile is considered. However, there is a significant relationship between factors that affect the performance of the teacher and the perceived effects of Covid 19 pandemic to the performance of the teacher. With these findings, an intervention material was designed.
