ABSTRACT
This action research examines the numeracy skills of learners at Gov. Feliciano Leviste Memorial National High School, focusing on their abilities in problem-solving, analysis, and creativity. Numeracy is recognized as a fundamental skill not only for mathematics but also for daily life decision-making, employment, and overall well-being. Despite its importance, many learners demonstrate weaknesses in applying numerical concepts, solving word problems, and analyzing mathematical situations. Factors such as attitudes toward mathematics, study habits, and learning environment have been identified as contributing to these challenges.
The study aimed to identify the extent to which learners display numeracy skills and to determine the key factors affecting their development. Findings from assessments and observations informed the design of enhancement activities tailored to strengthen problem-solving, analytical thinking, and creative applications in mathematics. By implementing targeted interventions, the research seeks to improve students’ numeracy performance, foster positive attitudes toward mathematics, and equip learners with essential skills for academic success and lifelong numeracy competence.
