“LIES THAT SEES”

Poem by: FRANCHESKA BRIONES

· Volume V Issue II

I

In a world of words that twist and turn,

Lies emerge, like hidden burn.

False stories told with a crafty art,

Tearing at the seams of the honest heart.

II

Whispers of untruths, a tangled thread,

Weaving a web where trust has fled.

Promises shattered, like fragile glass,

Leaving behind a shadowy, broken mass.

III

Deceit wears a mask, like a sly disguise,

Leaving behind trails of whispered lies.

A game played in the shadows’ embrace,

Leaving truth behind, lost in chase.

IV

Yet honesty blooms in a simple truth,

A flower resilient, despite the sooth.

In the light of truth, darkness dies,

Revealing the cost of deceitful lies.

V

So let honesty be your guiding light,

Breaking through the web, dispelling the night.

In a world where deceit often vies,

Choose the path free from deceptive ties.
