LEARNING STYLE PREFERENCES OF GRADE 9 STUDENTS IN TLE IN TUY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine learning style preferences of Grade 9 students in TLE in Tuy National High School. Learning style preferences refers to the characteristic strengths and preferences in the way (people) take in and process information. The respondents were consisting 74 grade 9 students enrolled in TLE in Tuy National High School, however the researcher was only able to collect a complete set of data from 67 students because 7 of them was not present at the time of our survey. Of the 67 students were 38 males and 29 were females. It was a quantitative study and data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations and documents analysis. This study shows that the combination of active/reflective, sensing/intuitive, visual/verbal and sequential/global are learning styles that students prefer to learn. Result showed that the Grade 9 TLE students in Tuy National High School have an active/reflective type of learning. Teaching-Learning style preferences model or TLSP Model for teaching-learning process may be implemented, crafted and could be efficient to Grade 9 TLE students in Tuy National High School.
