ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the efficacy of the strategies being given to the key stage 2 learners of Putting Kahoy Elementary School, Niyugan Elementary School and Lumbang na Bata Elementary School in Calaca City Sub- Office to raise the learning interest in order to improve the academic rate in all subjects.
The researcher utilized descriptive method of research and self-made questionnaire as the main data gathering instrument. The statistical treatment tools that were applied are frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and Pearson r. This study involved 63 teachers. The researcher concluded that the level of the learers’ interest in learning in their subjects is an average level. Majority of the pupils comprising grades 4 to 6 (Key Stage 2) belong to the very satisfactory bracket. The respondents were very much challenged by environmental, family and home and school factors.
The researcher recommended that the teachers may focus on providing targeted support for learners using intervention activities to increase pupils’ interest in learning in their subjects from great extent to a very great extent. The teachers may strengthen the implementation of school initiatives aimed at lessening the challenges encountered by Key Stage 2 pupils that resulted to low academic performance.
