ABSTRACT

This study assessed the factors affecting the improvement of accounting skills among accountancy students at Dr. Francisco L. Calingasan Memorial Colleges Foundation. It focuses on the significance of professional guidance, resource availability, and time management in enhancing students' accounting foundations. The participants in the study were sixteen (16) accountancy students, consisting of two males and fourteen females’ respondents. Purposive sampling was utilized to ensure the inclusion of students actively pursuing their studies in accountancy. A survey was conducted to gather significant data regarding the respondents’ profiles, specifically age and sex, and to assess the importance of professional guidance, resource availability, and effective time management in improving accounting skills.

The study yielded the following findings: the majority of respondents were between the ages of 18 to 25, with a greater number of female respondents compared to male respondents. Among the factors assessed, guidance from experienced professionals was found to have the greatest significance, followed by the availability of educational resources. Therefore, the proposed development plan can be implemented to strengthen the accounting foundation of students and support their academic success.
