ABSTRACT

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer in the Philippines, requiring strict medication adherence and effective symptom management. This capstone project presents the development and evaluation of HemaCare, a mobile prescription management app designed for pediatric ALL patients and their caregiver. HemaCare offers medication reminders, symptom tracking, and educational resources within a secure, user-friendly interface.

Developed using Flutter and SQLite, the app’s requirements were gathered from caregivers, patients, and doctors to ensure relevance and usability. User acceptance testing, based on ISO 25010 standards, revealed high satisfaction, with mean scores of 4.27 for functional usability, 4.19 for reliability, and 4.06 for performance efficiency on a 5-point Likert scale. Result reported that HemaCare improved medication schedule organization and enabled more accurate symptom reporting. IT experts confirmed the app’s compliance with data privacy and security standards.

Recommendations include adding comprehensive reports and analytics, implementing a rewards system, tracking medication reactions, and enabling family members to receive alerts for better monitoring. Regular updates to expand educational content and ongoing user training are also advised. Expanding the app’s features to support other hematological malignancies could further enhance its impact.
