ABSTRACT
This research investigates the impact of financial experiences on the academic performance of hospitality management students. The study employed a quantitative research design, specifically a descriptive survey, involving 428 students. The quantitative approach was utilized for the collection and statistical analysis of numerical data related to students' financial situations and academic performance.
The findings revealed that financial experiences have significant effects to the students, negatively impacting their academic performance and overall well-being. A significant difference in financial experiences was observed across different year levels, suggesting that financial challenges increase as students’ progress through their studies. However, no significant difference in financial experiences was found between male and female students. Based on the findings of the study, the researchers developed a comprehensive coping mechanism manual designed to help students manage financial stress and enhance their academic performance. The manual provides practical strategies and resources, including budgeting tips, scholarship information, and mental health support, to empower students to overcome financial obstacles and achieve academic success.
