ABSTRACT
This research aimed to identify the factors that affect teachers of Luntal Elementary School in conducting a research. This utilized the descriptive method of research. Ten (10) teachers from Luntal Elementary School in Tuy District were chosen as respondents in this research. A questionnaire was used as the main data-gathering instrument. The data were analyzed using a weighted mean.
The research yielded the following results: Most of the respondents were on middle ages (41-50), Teacher III in position, 11-20 years in service, have masteral degree units and mostly have no conducted researches. The respondents perceived conducting research as very important in its level of importance. In terms of the factors affecting teachers in conducting research, the respondents strongly agreed that having a research guide in making an action research is needed.
With the gathered results, a research guide was designed to address the problems of low number of teachers who conduct action research in school.
