ENHANCING THE MASTERY LEVEL OF GRADE 7 AP STUDENTS IN IDENTIFYING ASIA’S LOCATION

ABSTRACT

This study primarily aims to enhance the skills of Grade 7 learners in locating countries of Asia on the map under the Most Essential Learning Skills “Naipaliliwanag ang konsepto ng Asya tungo sa paghahating -heograpiko: Silangang Asya, Timog- Silangang Asya, Timog Asya, Kanlurang Asya, Hilagang Asya at Hilaga/Gitnang Asya” with the help of the Countries of Asia quiz gaming App. A Comparative Method of research was utilized, to assess the effectiveness of the gaming app to the performance of the learners. Learners’ Pretest and Post Test results were analyzed by the researchers to assess the effectiveness of the used gaming app.

The result turned out to be helpful and effective for the learners to fully understand the lesson and answer their task promptly. The experimental group proved that the gaming application is effectivity in through the result of their posttest compared to the controlled group. An action plan was proposed to improve students’ learning through this application. Furthermore, the researchers recommend that subject teachers should incorporate games to motivate and strengthen students’ understanding towards mastery of the subject matter.
