ABSTRACT
This study, titled “Employment Readiness and Career Adaptability for Job Preparation of Fourth-Year Tourism and Hospitality Management Students oin STI College Balayan, Inc.”, aimed to assess the employment readiness and career adaptability of graduating students under the Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) Department. It focused on determining students’ readiness in terms of academic knowledge, soft skills, industry-specific hard skills, and work ethics, as well as their adaptability in terms of concern, control, curiosity, and confidence.
The study utilized a quantitative-descriptive correlational design with a structured survey questionnaire administered to Fourth-Year THM students. The gathered data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation to determine the relationship between employment readiness and career adaptability.
Results revealed that students were generally “Strongly Agree” for employment, particularly in work ethics, showing strong professionalism and responsibility. They also displayed a high career adaptability, especially in confidence, reflecting their self-assurance and ability to handle workplace challenges.
A moderate positive and significant relationship was found between employment readiness and career adaptability (p < 0.05), indicating that students who are more prepared also adapt better to career transitions. Based on these findings, a Job Preparation Workshop was developed to further enhance students’ employability and adaptability for future careers in the tourism and hospitality industry.
