RESEARCH ABSTRACT

Education is a never-ending process that adapts to the needs and demands of the times and circumstances. Recognizing this right, the Constitution states that everyone, regardless of age, sex, color, political affiliation, or socioeconomic status, is entitled to a quality and meaningful primary education. To this purpose, the Bureau of Secondary School has created the Open High School Program (OHSP) as a secondary education alternative. Those who want to finish their high school education outside of the conventional school system can do so through this program. This study somehow answers the calls of necessities, particularly when it comes to insufficient and outdated instructional materials as one of the challenges schools face that implement OHSP.

The study used the experimental, descriptive, and developmental research design with pretest and posttest. The descriptive research design was also employed in the study. It was also developmental since it was focused on developing module.

The developed Module passed all criteria as assessed by the Experts. Thus, considered valid as teaching material in Araling Panlipunan 10 for Open High School Program.

The results demonstrate that the developed module can be utilized in teaching the subject in the Open High School program. And since it only focuses on one subject area, teachers in another subject may also develop a module for more effective delivery of lessons.
