BULLYING EXPERIENCES AMONG COLLEGE STUDENTS: BASIS FOR POLICY RECOMMENDATION AND IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES

ABSTRACT

The research aimed to determine the perspectives and experiences of college students with regard to bullying. The descriptive design was utilized in the conduct of the study, with a structured questionnaire distributed among the students from UB College of Arts and Sciences. The percentage was utilized to assess and interpret the respondents’ profile, and the weighted mean and standard deviation were used to determine the relations of results. The study's findings reveal that verbal victimization is the most commonly experienced form of abuse among the participants. The result shows that the extent of the problem of bullying in the institution is at minimal level. Results also uncover that most of the participants have experienced at least one form of bullying. Hence, a proposed anti-bullying policy has been designed to address the results of the study.
