ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN EDUCATION: EXPLORING OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES IN FOSTERING

ABSTRACT

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education has emerged as a transformative approach to improving teaching strategies and learning experiences in modern classrooms. As educational institutions increasingly adopt digital technologies, AI tools offer opportunities to enhance instructional delivery, support personalized learning, and promote equitable access to educational resources. This study investigated the potential of AI tools in promoting equitable learning outcomes and examined the challenges encountered by educators in their implementation. Specifically, the research explored the level of readiness of teachers to utilize AI in instructional practices, the extent of training and professional development provided to support effective AI integration, and the perceived effectiveness of these tools in fostering equitable and inclusive education.

Using a descriptive-correlational research design, data were collected from a sample of educators through structured survey questionnaires. The study analyzed the relationship between teachers’ training experiences and their readiness to implement AI-supported teaching practices. Findings revealed a significant positive relationship between teacher training and readiness to employ AI tools in the classroom, emphasizing the crucial role of professional development in ensuring effective technology integration. Teachers generally perceived AI as a beneficial tool that enhances student engagement, supports differentiated instruction, and facilitates personalized learning pathways. However, the study also identified several challenges that hinder the effective implementation of AI in education. These challenges included limited access to technological infrastructure, insufficient technical skills among educators, lack of institutional support, and concerns regarding data privacy and ethical use of AI technologies.

The study concluded that while AI possesses strong potential to advance equitable learning opportunities, its successful implementation depends on adequate teacher preparation, institutional readiness, and strategic policy support. Therefore, it is recommended that educational institutions invest in targeted professional development programs, strengthen technological infrastructure, and establish clear guidelines for ethical AI usage. Continuous monitoring and evaluation of AI applications are also necessary to ensure their effectiveness, inclusivity, and sustainability in educational settings.
